9Six Events Pvt. Ltd. released fixture of 96 Trophy (Province-1). Patriotic Cricket Training Centre (Damak) will face Boston Cricket Academy (Birtamode) in the opening encounter at Jhapa. The tournament will commence from 28th Falgun and run till 11th Chaitra 2077.
About 96 Trophy
The name “96 Trophy” reflects the debut year for Nepal Cricket in International Arena. We all are well known about Nepal’s first-ever International match in 1996, and we are very proud to name our trophy after such a prestigious date. 96 Trophy is designed to uplift and promote the club and academy level of cricket in Nepal. Basically, it is a season more than a tournament and a season consists of seven tournaments and 122 active days of club cricket in Nepal. The tournament will be played in a Two-Day format with a white jersey and a red ball. The tournament will take place in Seven Provinces (jointly in Province 5&6 as they have a common Provincial Cricket Board) and the winner of each province will qualify for the main draw, i.e National Level Tournament. “Maximum of eight clubs or academies can participate in one Province, so we can cover 48 clubs or academies in the first season, and the number will keep increasing as season goes on. The season will start from Falgun every year, which means we will finish the finale till Magh 2078 and start a new season from Falgun 2078. The winning team of a season will be rewarded with 2.5 lakhs Nepali rupees followed by 1 lakh for runner-up. Man of the series will be benefited with 25,000/- followed by 10,000 for best batsman, bowler, and field of the season respectively. The man of the match for every match will get 500/-. The Provincial winner will get Trophy, Medal, Certificate along with their qualification to the main draw.

The first phase of 96 Trophy will start from Province-1.
The first phase of the 2077-78 season will start from Falgun 28, 2077 at Province 1. The tournament will consist of a maximum of eight clubs or academies and participating eight teams are already confirmed. The tournament will take place in two venues simultaneously, one of Jhapa and Morang respectively, venues are yet to be confirmed. Eights teams will be divided into two pools and each team will play two matches at the group stage. The winner of both pools will advance to the final. The opening ceremony and match will take place at Jhapa while the final match is drafted to take place at Morang. The final match will take place on the 10th and 11th of Falgun.
The detail and schedule for Province No.2 will be announced after this tournament, and the same process will be followed afterward.
